Zespo is an artist and arts administrator living and working in Chicago. He received an MFA from The University of Chicago (2018) and a BFA from the American Academy of Art in Chicago (2014). He has exhibited his work in solo and two-person exhibitions at Denison Art Space in Newark (Newark, OH, 2018), Cuarto de Servicio (CDMX, México, 2024) and most recently at Pueblo Unido Gallery at Centro Romero (Chicago, IL, 2025). His work has been recognized by grants, fellowships and juried exhibitions including 2018 Ground Floor at the Hyde Park Art Center, 3Arts Make A Wave grant, and The Oxbow School of Art residency fellowship. Zespo is the Visual Arts Director for the Lit & Luz Festival facilitating cultural exchanges between Chicago and Mexico, and the Program Curator & Administrator for the Open Practice Committee, the visiting artist program of the Department of Visual Arts at The University of Chicago.
